2024 Commencement Ceremony at SPAC

Renowned poetjournalist and social entrepreneur Aaron P. Dworkin and prolific advocate and curator of the arts Adam D. Weinberg will receive honorary degrees. Associate Professor of Political Science Ronald P. Seyb will serve as this year's faculty speaker.

孲ummer student employment 

孴丑别 process for submitting requisitions for summer employment is now open. All summer hire requests are subject to approval by each division vice president. All requests for summer workers must be approved before any work begins. Positions will be posted on or around March 10. All positions that need to be posted/advertised should be submitted by that date. Human Resources manages all hiring needs during the summer months, including for 91传媒 students; more information can be found online.

Feb. 28 faculty meeting & March 5 staff meeting

孴丑别 staff meeting originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28, has been rescheduled to 1 p.m. next Wednesday, March 5, on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. The next faculty meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 28, as originally scheduled. Employees may also participate in both meetings via Zoom.

孴丑别 Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) is compiling a directory of official 91传媒 social media accounts. Those who manage an account for a department, program, or athletic team, should to ensure that OCM has up-to-date contact information. 孲t. Patricks Day to-go dinners 

孌ining Services will be selling $10 corned beef and cabbage dinners to go at the Spa. Pre-order by Wednesday, March 12, for pickup between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, March 17. Each meal includes slow-cooked corned beef, steamed cabbage, red potatoes, roasted rainbow carrots, and freshly baked Irish soda bread. Credit or 91传媒 cards accepted. 

孍xploremore: Majors and minors 

First- and second-year students are encouraged to take advantage of Exploremore, an opportunity to talk to professors and upper-class students about what it means to major or minor in a specific discipline and how to make the most of your academic career, through Friday, Feb. 28. Learn about upcoming courses, internship opportunities, study abroad, research opportunities, and more.

屸赌屸赌Periclean Honors Forum to host 'Dialogues Across Differences' 

孨ew York Times opinion columnist Ross Douthat will discuss "The Future of Global Politics," with responses from 91传媒 faculty at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, in Gannett Auditorium. The event is free and open to all. A book signing with Douthat, hosted by Northshire Bookstore, will follow in the Gannett Lobby. Registration for summer sports camps 

孯egistration for 91传媒 Summer Sports Camps opens March 1. Led by 91传媒 award-winning coaches, the camps are open to children of all ages and teach teamwork concepts and skills in baseball, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, and volleyball. 孉pplications for the Summer Experience Fund and Postgraduate Awards are due April 10. Stipends of $4,500 are awarded to support students completing summer internships and more. Experiences must be secured before applying. Contact Kristen Flynn with questions.

孧ake Your Voice Heard 91传媒 Public Policy Prize 

孴丑别 Subcommittee on Responsible Citizenship is pleased to announce the Make Your Voice Heard 91传媒 Public Policy Prize 2025 Competition. All current students are invited to be a part of the political process by writing a formal letter to an official and a proposal for a grassroots effort to engage the public on a particular issue. The winner receives $1,000. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025. 

孒umanistic Inquiry Symposium 

孉ll are invited to this year Humanistic Inquiry Symposium, March 21-22 at the Tang Teaching Museum. The Symposium will explore the theme of Time its purposes, its influence, and the ways it shapes our existence and feature a keynote address by Thomas DeFrantz, professor at Northwestern University and director of SLIPPAGE: Performance|Culture|Technology. President Marc C. Conner and faculty from a variety of disciplines will lead sessions examining timefulness our state of being in time and how humanistic inquiry helps illuminate this fundamental aspect of life. 

孫n-campus pre-orientation opportunity 

孴丑别 Office of Campus Life and Engagement is accepting . All programs are peer led, and submissions should be accompanied by interested students who love to lead and help others with their college transitions. 91传媒 Young Scholars Science Institute (SYSSI)

Plan ahead and use caution during winter storms while Facilities attends to snow and ice removals.

Help reduce bulk emails by posting your announcement in 91传媒 Weekly Bulletin, which is distributed to all students and employees. Submit announcements and eventslectures, panels, and other academic events; and faculty-staff achievements by completing the appropriate online form. The deadline for all submissions is noon on Monday.

Athletics News

Men ice hockey is back in the postseason as it plays host to Salve Regina University at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the NEHC Quarterfinals at the Saratoga City Rink. Women lacrosse has its home opener slated for 4 p.m. on Wednesday against Springfield College and will play at home again at 1 p.m. on Saturday against SUNY New Paltz. Women tennis hosts Amherst College in a dual match at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center. Baseball will begin its season this weekend in a three-game series on the road at McDaniel College in Maryland. 

The women basketball team defeated Union on Tuesday, meaning the Thoroughbreds will make their third consecutive Liberty League Semifinal appearance when it visits second-seeded Vassar on Friday.
