�Saratoga Book Festival 

�91��ý community will take part in the fifth annual Saratoga Book Festival, Thursday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 5. Faculty, alumni, retirees and parents will present on topics ranging from Jane Austen and Chinese history to horror, fiction, and AI. Participants include 91��ý faculty Margaret Pearson, Catherine J. Golden, Steve Stern, and Mason Stokes, as well as Cleyvis Natera �99 and Paul Tremblay P�27. Most events are free and open to the public.

�"There That Sun Again:" A Workshop for Kids with Mk Smith Despres 

�The Tang Teaching Museum and the Saratoga Book Festival will present a reading and art-making workshop with picture-book author and educator Mk Smith Despres at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5. The program is free and open to the public and is suitable for children age 5 and older with an adult companion. Books will be available for purchase.

��Stories from the Rotinonshonni Longhouse, Past & Present 

�Join the 2025�26 Elder in Residence Kay Ionataie:was Olan for an evening of storytelling at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, in Filene Auditorium. Presented on Indigenous Peoples Day, the program highlights Rotinonshonni (Iroquois) stories past and present. Kay, a member of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne, has shared stories for more than 35 years. The event is free and open to the public.

�The Tang Teaching Museum will celebrate its 25th anniversary Saturday, Oct. 18, with two free events: a 4:30 p.m. for new exhibitions, including and and an 8 p.m. concert, by Caroline Shaw and Sō Percussion with guest Ringdown at the Arthur Zankel Music Center. The concert is co-presented with the Zankel Music Center and Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Both events are free and open to the public. for the concert.

��1984 Is So 2025!� 

�At 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, in Davis Auditorium, the League of Women Voters of Saratoga County will host a discussion of George Orwell novel �1984.� The event is part of the American Library Association �Banned Books Week� and led by Associate Professor and Chair of English Tim Wientzen will lead a community discussion on the novel ongoing significance since its publication in 1950.

�Celebrate National Caramel and Custard Day at The Spa from 11a.m.- 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Every customer who buys a chef's feature, grill combo, or deli combo (meal plans not included) can create their own caramel apple and decorate it with assorted toppings. �The 45th annual Encore faculty lecture series for community members age 55 and older returns to the Arthur Zankel Music Center this fall. The subscription series will run Tuesday mornings from Sept. 30-Nov. 11. Current 91��ý employees are invited to attend a lecture without prior registration.

Women tennis, fresh off a tremendous ITA Regional last weekend, returns home at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, for its Liberty League opener against Union College. On Friday, Oct. 3, men tennis begins play as it hosts the ITA Northeast Regionals at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center. On Saturday, Oct. 4, women volleyball hosts Union College at 1 p.m., and women soccer welcomes Ithaca College at 3 p.m. Wrapping up the busy week, field hockey hosts William Smith College at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.
